During my recent stay at Recinto Antico Sweet Rooms, I found a cozy gem nestled in the heart of Matera, only a quick five-minute walk from the lively Sassi area. My spa suite combined modern comforts with a traditional stone setting-a nod to the local architecture. The bathroom was beautiful, albeit low on one side-something to consider if you're tall. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring locally sourced ingredients, and the owner provided excellent restaurant recommendations. The complimentary map with suggested routes was particularly helpful for maximizing my exploration. For those considering value, while the rates are on the higher side, the thoughtful amenities, including efficient housekeeping and the welcoming atmosphere, justify the price. It's a solid choice for anyone wanting a blend of luxury and practicality without breaking the bank.
